The CIVL has partnered with Napa Valley Wine Academy to offer a number of educational opportunities to US wine trade, educators and enthusiasts alike in 2020:
- Live Webinars: Join one of these live virtual events on select dates in June. Peter Marks, MW and Dir. of Education Catherine Bugue, DipWSET will walk attendees through the key features to know about Languedoc and its wines. Register here.
A recorded version of one of these events will then be available for viewing at any time on Napa Valley Wine Academy’s website. Link to follow.

- WSET Diploma Scholarship: This scholarship is available for candidates enrolling in the WSET Level 4 Diploma program for the 2020-2021 Academic year. The scholarship will cover the cost of one D3 Wines of the World segment of the WSET Diploma program. The goal of the need-based scholarship is to encourage future wine industry professionals to deepen their study of the Languedoc wine region and its role in the global wine industry. Candidates must submit their applications and essays before the July 31, 2020 deadline.

- National Sommelier Challenge: Launched in 2019, the Languedoc National Sommelier Challenge was established in recognition of the importance of education to the on-premise community, and its effect on sales and placements for the category. The Challenge will test knowledge of the region and its wines and be conducted in a virtual capacity. This will be open to all US based sommeliers in any market. More information forthcoming.
